This specialized role entails day to day compliance, advisory, regulatory advocacy, monitoring and testing, compliance risk assessment and implement/own of KYC/AML framework for all the business of DB IBU.

Your key responsibilities
Deutsche Bank is in the process of operationalising its International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) Banking Unit at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), India in terms of the IFSCA Banking Regulations, Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and IFSC Authority Act, 2019.
Compliance works closely with these lines of business to assist with the management of specific risks. At DB IBU, the business will be broadly organized along various lines, namely Corporate Banking, Global Emerging Market, Transaction Services, Treasury, Trade Finance, Commercial Bank and Custody & Funds Services. The branch will be commencing initially with Trade and Loan products.
Job Responsibilities
DB Compliance is seeking a highly motivated individual with expertise in managing compliance matters pertaining to IBU’s activities, financial markets (particularly in FCY trade and lending, foreign exchange and rate products, FPI and custody activities) to join the team in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Incumbent would be required to support business and our strategy to provide Compliance coverage for DB-IBU, The role will focus on advisory, Business Compliance, Infra Compliance, AFC, Central Compliance, Testing and Assurance activities and will work closely with the business and associated support functions and will have ultimate responsibility for managing compliance matters pertaining to the IBU.
The role also requires implementing the firm’s AML & CFT policies at IBU. The role will involve working closely with the business, operations, and other compliance partners to ensure that the AML/ CFT / Sanctions programme in India are implemented as per the firm’s policies and standards, as well as local laws and regulations.
The role will focus on IBU but will require to ensure consistency in approach with our global policies and procedures. The role will involve multiple exposures & stakeholders and will require evaluating & advising on new & existing regulations. It will also involve working with other legal entities within the DBAG Group in order to lend support to Compliance and AFC activities.
The role will also entail regulatory risk management for the risk taxonomies owned by Compliance and Anti Financial Crime. Other aspects of the role include supporting the IBU businesses and Compliance programme in regulatory risk sensitization, regulatory dissemination, policy formulation, performing compliance training as well as compliance monitoring & assurance.
Essential Skills/Experience/ Education or professional qualifications:
Minimum 8+ years of regulatory and risk review management experience with a financial institution or professional firm (preferably a Bank or NBFC).
Professionally qualified (CA/CS/MBA). Financial, regulatory and legal qualifications would be an advantage (FRM, ACAMS. CFA).
Strong product and local market knowledge of financial markets with a focus on particularly in FCY trade and lending, foreign exchange and rate products, FPI and custody activities.
Strong control focussed review skills combined with knowledge of regulatory concepts and their practical application in operational processes and products.
Take ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution
Act as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment
Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills combined with the ability to articulate these skills at a senior level.
Experience in AML/CFT matters and KYC laws will be an advantage.
It may be noted that Compliance officer of IBU will require an authorization from IFSC Authority to carry on the role. Such authorization will be granted if the Authority is satisfied that the individual is fit and proper to be an Approved Individual and while making this assessment, the Authority will have regard to: (a) the individual’s adherence to moral and ethical principles, as demonstrated by his/her actions as an employee of the Banking company and in his/her previous employment for which information is available to the Authority (b) the individual’s competence and capability to carry out the function proposed in the IBU as demonstrated by his/her educational and professional qualifications and relevant experience. (c) the individual’s financial soundness as demonstrated by his/her assets and liabilities. (d) the individual’s proposed role within the IBU; and (e) any other matters that the Authority considers to be relevant to the application.
