Job Description : WEBTOON is a world leader in digital entertainment with over 72 million unique monthly readers. We are a rapidly growing digital entertainment and storytelling company with users and creators from all over the world. With the $600 million acquisition of Wattpad in 2021, now we have a combined monthly user base of 166 million people. By working closely with Wattpad, WEBTOON is planning to bring more innovations to the online publishing industry and reward writers through a new premium service. You will be an early hire of Digital Fiction Group that will leverage WEBTOON and Wattpad’s unmatched library of IP, powered by a new generation of creators, and the technology to create hits in every genre.
*Please note that this is a REMOTE position within the United State mainland.*
Job Summary:
We’re looking for a copywriter to spread the word and get readers excited about our top titles. You will be responsible for crafting copy that hooks readers by highlighting the most exciting and unique elements of each book we’ve chosen to promote. An excellent communicator and storyteller, you will tailor your copy to each platform and target demographic, adjusting text as needed based on feedback and performance data.
Responsibilities:
Write engaging copy to promote our top titles both within and outside the app.
Work closely with content teams to ensure copy highlights the unique elements that make each book a must-read.
Develop a deep understanding of our target readers and the copy that resonates with them.
Tailor copy to each platform and target demographic while maintaining overall brand voice/tone.
Edit and adjust copy based on performance data.
Qualifications:
3-5 years copywriting experience. Publishing industry experience strongly preferred.
Experience writing copy for all major social media/digital platforms. In-app UX copywriting experience a plus.
Hungry for feedback and can adjust copy based on performance data.
Ability to listen and respond to our audiences, including Wattpad community, internal and external partners, and the traditional book publishing market.
Strong storytelling and creative instincts.
Excellent communication skills and comfortable working across multiple departments.
Detail oriented with strong time-management skills. Able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
A motivated self-starter with a love for genre fiction, particularly eBooks/web fiction.
