Job Description : Job Summary and Duties: The Court Coordinator is employed by the Office of the Chief Judge and reports to the Division Administrator of the Domestic Violence Division, the judge to whom he or she is assigned, and the Presiding Judge of the Division. The applicant must possess a high degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, and must be able to assist his or her assigned judge both in the courtroom and with other duties as required. In addition, the court coordinator may be called upon to assist the Presiding Judge’s Office of the Domestic Violence Division as needed. These duties may include but are not limited to being assigned to another courtroom on a temporary basis.
The following are duties and responsibilities of the Domestic Violence Division Court Coordinator:
· Answer the telephone;
· Direct pro se litigants’ questions to proper department and provide such other assistance as directed by the judge, the Division Administrator and the Presiding Judge;
· Respond to inquiries from Police Department, Sheriff’s Department and State’s Attorney;
· Summarize each case on the court call, identifying multiple party and complex cases;
· Perform clerical duties associated with court orders and orders of protection;
· Distribute the weekly assignment sheet;
· Schedule hearings and request attorney and pro se contact information;
· Act as liaison with the Law Bulletin;
· Stock supplies;
· Assist the Division Administrator with projects assigned by the Presiding Judge’s Office.

Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
· Domestic Violence Division and courtroom experience preferred;
· Ability to respond and follow through with proper procedures required by the Court;
· Knowledge of how cases proceed through the system, and forms, documents and procedures associated with same;
· Excellent computer skills;
· Excellent written and oral communication skills;
· Excellent interpersonal skills;
· Ability to work cooperatively and integrate with legal and non-legal personnel;
· Commitment to Access to Justice for all
Other Requirements:
Working conditions/physical requirements:
· On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen;
· Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk;
· Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation;
· Strength to lift files weighing up to 20 pounds;
· Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
