Job Description : The Medicine Bow Creamery is looking to hire a full-time creamery assistant to be part of our farmstead goat cheese operation. Employees will be part of a small team managing all aspects of goat care, daily milking chores, assisting with cheese makes, and leading guest experiences.Employees will: Assist with cheese makes and cleanupAssist with cheese affinage and packagingAssist with inventory tracking and managementLead winter guest experiences when neededAssist with animal husbandry such as trimming hooves, administering medications, assisting with kidding, etc. as necessaryMaintain tools, equipment, and livestock handling facilities necessary to livestock productionAssist with milking and cleaning chores in the dairyEnsure goats have access to fresh water and feed dailyBottle feed kids and manage cleanup as neededLead guest toursManage creamery retail space as neededMinimum requirements: Lift 50 lbsGood communicatorsWillingness to get dirty and handle animalsWillingness to learn new skillsMust have customer service skills as this will be a guest-facing positionMust have data entry and record-keeping experience
Preferred candidates would also have cheese making, milking, and/or food safety experience. Animal husbandry and veterinary experience a plus.
