Position: Crime Analyst
Location: Advocate Support Center
Full Time; Day Shift

Purpose: Analyze calls for service, incidents, crime statistics, and other data to identify trends and patterns for the ultimate purpose of making risk~rationalized recommendations for the best deployment of resources and mitigation strategies to contribute to the safest environment possible at Advocate Aurora facilities and surrounding areas. Knowledge derived from analysis will also be shaped into products which inform decision~making in the areas of security/public safety policies, training, access control, command center operations, and investigations.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
Typically requires 3 years of experience in crime or intelligence analysis.
Ability to identify data needs acquire needed data or create a process to acquire it if there is no existing process correlate multiple data streams and assemble them to arrive at Information.
Extensive knowledge of analytic methods and security/public safety operations.
Demonstrated strength in inductive and deductive reasoning, pattern recognition, oral and reading comprehension, written expression, and information ordering and maturation.
A high level of proficiency required in preparing and presenting statistical, evaluative, and predictive reports and presentations for multiple audiences.
Exceptional proficiency with Data Visualization, office automation software, databases, search engines, automated reporting tools.
Knowledge of computers and computer systems with emphasis on Police and Security~based programs.
Skill in demonstrating diplomacy and collegiality when collaborating with team members, leaders, community members, internal stakeholders, and external agencies.
Possesses essential analytic attributes. Combines adaptability, open~mindedness, and creativity with determination, innovation, courage of convictions, self~motivation, focus, persistence, and irrefutable Integrity.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive throughout the workday.
Must lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Temperature in working environment (when outside) may vary significantly due to seasonal changes.
May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, and radiation hazards.
Protective clothing must be worn as necessary.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Perform independent analysis of criminal activity and relevant incident reports at Advocate Aurora facilities and surrounding areas. Design, establish, maintain and exploit databases to create predictive tools to reduce/prevent criminal activity. Prepare periodic statistical, evaluative, and predictive reports and presentations to communicate findings derived from analysis with a focus on maturing Data to Knowledge.
Analyze calls for service, incidents, crime statistics, and other data ~ to include anomaly analysis in the areas of access control, purchasing, consumption, shipping, receiving, pharmacy distribution, and medical device utilization ~~ to identify trends, patterns, and reconcile irregularities in partnership with internal investigative resources.
Ensure data integrity for assigned key performance indicators and success measures.
