Position : Customer Support Specialist
Job Description : Rise Gardens seeks to connect people to the food they eat, to inspire them to grow their own food year-round and to help them be conscientious consumers of healthy produce. We do this by creating elegant home hydroponic gardening systems that make a complicated process easy, productive and fun. The movements towards sustainable and hyper-local food have created hundreds of millions of potential consumers globally who care passionately about the provenance and nutritional value of their food. We endeavor to serve them with an excellent product, comprehensive supportive content, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
Our system is the most advanced consumer product on the market. It adapts commercial-grade hydroponic technology for consumer use. The Rise Gardens ecosystem includes a manufactured appliance, an application that interfaces with the appliance, and a service that supplies customers with all the necessities to keep their garden continuously productive. The system allows for modularity to grow a little or a lot of food at home in a beautiful package and at an affordable price. While it is a technically sophisticated product, with a little help and guidance it is simple to operate and maintain.
We successfully launched our product at the end of 2019 to a great reception. We have grown 4.0x our size every year since the launch and we recently closed a $9.5M round of venture funding led by Telus Ventures and complemented by True Ventures, Listen Ventures, and the Alexa Fund. We have an experienced technology entrepreneur, a great team, and solid financial backing. The CEO, Hank Adams, built his career in technology with three previous successful tech businesses under his belt.
We are looking for exceptional personnel as we prepare to revolutionize the concept of farm-to-table food.
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as primary point of contact creating delightful experiences for Rise Gardens customers.
Resolve product and/or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, and following up to ensure resolution in a timely manner.
Answer incoming calls as well as make outbound calls as necessary to gather information to complete any customer request.
Maintain a professional demeanor in any situation.
Operate in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
Create support content to better improve the Rise Gardens customer experience.
Prepare product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information.
Take charge of assigned tasks and follow up to make sure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
This role is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work availability a week and weekend availability. You may be asked to work evenings or holidays.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Two to three (2-3) years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience, especially in our particular or a related industry, is required; experience in a tech support role preferred
Relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, communication or other relevant areas is preferred
Strong experience with customer service software (Zendesk, Freshdesk, etc.) and phone systems is required.
