Position : Data Analysis and Visualization Specialist
Job Description : TikTok is the world’s premier destination for short-form mobile video. Our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. The US Trust and Safety Policy Team works to proactively identify safety risks on platform and codify policies to ensure our users are safe while using our platform and also have the freedom to express themselves authentically.
As a member of the Escalations Team, you will be integral to ensuring that TikTok is a safe and trustworthy place for our community. You will be shaping the landscape of Trust and Safety and we expect you to find solutions and create opportunities with a minimum of hand-holding. You will build data visuals and provide key data insights to cross-functional partners in moments of crises and work on some of the highest priority safety issues at TikTok.
Responsibilities
Transform data sets and quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals
Write data queries for data targeting, collection, analysis, and/or visual creation in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Support Trust and Safety, Communications, Public Policy, and other cross-functional teams in providing data insights for briefs, letters, and reports
Provide guidance in data investigation and analysis to internal and external partners to support real-time crises
Independently and collaboratively drive strategic and ad hoc projects from start to finish
Support the analysis of data systems and trends to develop improvements to the overall escalation processes
1-2+ years professional experience in data or quantitative analysis, data visualization, or other relevant topic
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel.
Experience working independently with impeccable judgment.
Strategic, data-driven thinker with analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Experience translating data insights and analysis to technical and non-technical audiences
Accuracy and acute attention to detail; ability to accurately implement last-minute changes
Demonstrated experience managing pressure and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Trust & Safety or content moderation; familiarity with content moderation metrics
Multiple programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++, Perl, Java, etc.).
