Salary: $77,752 -$90,344 (Exempt Salary Schedule 42, Lane A)

Purpose Statement
The Assessment and Evaluation (A&E) Data Analytics Specialist supports and coordinates data and information that is handled in A&E in coordination with IT. This position will produce accurate information and workflow while coordinating data analytics with the Director to provide accurate, clear, and real time data to district and school leaders, community members, and other stakeholders. This position would also coordinate training in the evolution of increased skills for all A&E Teachers on Special Assignment.
This job reports to the Assessment & Evaluation Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (i.e., psychology, business analytics, mathematics with statistics emphasis).
Two or more years experience writing SQL statements.
Two or more years programming in R
Two or more years using a business intelligence program such as Power BI, Tableau
One year or more building and distributing surveys using Qualtrics.
Two or more years experience working with educational data to provide analysis and evaluation
Pass criminal background check
Speak, read, write, analyze, and follow written and verbal communication in English; listen to, and understand information and ideas presented verbally or in writing

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a quantitative related field.
Three years working in the field of educational assessment and evaluation.
Experience writing and validating survey questions for a range of stakeholder audiences.
Experience providing a quantitative and qualitative summary analysis for public review.
Experience in or with K-12 education.
One or more years of experience designing and implementing adult professional learning.
Experience collaborating and communicating with school staff, students, parents, and community.

Essential Functions

Coordinate data analytics with the director in the department to provide accurate, clear, and real time data to district, school leaders, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate data for research and program evaluation.
Increase capacity of department in development of data solutions to meet the needs of the district and schools.
Provide oversight and coordination of technology platforms (i.e., business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Illuminate; Qualtrics; R Studio, Microsoft SQL Server) in the A&E department.
Coordinate training in platforms and languages to build skills across A&E TSAs and ensure cross-training.
Prepare and review evaluation documents and reports for stakeholders.
Facilitates external data requests at the direction of the Director and in coordination with the District Data Manager to receive approval for any release of student Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Coordinate internal data requests made by school and district leaders.
Perform program evaluation and research, demonstrating an understanding of statistics and program evaluation (i.e., Early Childhood, Educational Equity, and SL Foundation) and the evaluation of that programming and associated funding and grant reporting.
Utilize professional workplace etiquette; exercise sound judgement; maintain confidentiality; be adaptable and understanding of cultural differences; communicate effectively and develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
Work with limited supervision; work effectively under constant deadlines and time constraints; manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and prioritize accordingly.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements in an efficient and effective manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective operations.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
