Position : Data Warehouse Spec I

Job Description : Responsible for the data warehouse and reporting requirements of the IT division and other external units of UAEU and provide timely solutions. In addition to performing data warehouse and enterprise reporting system administration and maintenance activities, the senior data warehouse specialist is also responsible for the Document Management system administration, maintenance, support and development of additional data content to support university’s business requirements.

Senior data warehousing specialist is also responsible for managing the data warehousing and document management projects, related budget, license and vendor management, and change management activities.

Data Warehouse production support including installation, upgrades, patches, performance tuning, troubleshooting and system administration.
Enterprise reporting system support including installation, upgrades, patches, troubleshooting and system administration.
Document management system support including installation, upgrade, troubleshooting, system administration, custom content development and end user support.
Banner ERP support including installation, upgrades, patches, troubleshooting and system administration.
Build reports for internal DoIT management as required.
To establish priorities, perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work with users to define business needs, develop system requirements, conduct requests for proposals, and propose system solutions to users and management that address business needs.
Plans and executes integration and acceptance testing; and create specifications of systems to meet business requirements in line with best practices.
Provides user support and training as required.
Serve as a technical consultant to business users regarding data, reporting, systems, processes, and available technology.
Provide addition support and backup duties to other university supported enterprise systems.
Work with the vendors on Licensing, contracts and solution requirements etc.
Work with management for budgeting, project plan etc.
Responsible for change management functionalities.
Provide backup support for senior database administrator.
Responsible to adhere with all information security policies and procedures of the University.

Minimum Qualification

Clear understanding of data warehousing fundamentals required.
Clear understanding of data analytics fundamentals required.
Experience or understanding of data governance fundamentals is an added advantage.
Experience in development of data warehouse and database solutions required.
Experience in reporting tools such as SAP Crystal reports, Microsoft Power BI or Tableau required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oracle Database administration, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Data Integrator required.
Experience in MS SQL server administration skills will be an added advantage.
Experience in MS SQL server business intelligence (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) skills will be an added advantage.
Experience in cloud based data warehousing solutions is an added advantage.
Experience in document management system such as OpenText is an added advantage.
Oracle 19c RAC database administration skill will be an added advantage.
Experience in Unix/Linux Operating Systems and Windows Server Operating Systems required.
Experience in Unix shell scripting and Windows power shell is an added advantage.
Experience in programming in Python is an added advantage.
Experience working with ERP solutions is required preferably with Ellucian Banner.
Experience in Ellucian Banner Operations Data Store / Enterprise Data Warehouse is an added advantage.
Experience in Ellucian Degree Works is an added advantage.
Experience in Ellucian Ethos technologies is an added advantage.
Experience in higher education sector and SIS systems is an added advantage.
Must have excellent communication skills to work with Data Warehouse clients at all levels.

Preferred Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in a similar data warehousing and reporting environment.
