Organization Overview and Mission
Dahlia’s Hope is one of the only holistic, aftercare programs in Utah, and one of the few national comprehensive aftercare organizations for survivors of sex trafficking. We help survivors function independently and successfully in society through a multi-tiered approach to reach individuals in their own stages of recovery. We provide essential services to our trafficking survivors, with a focus on clinical therapy. Through clinical therapy, survivors will have access to recreational therapy, animal therapy, educational services, vocational training, health/life skills training, and housing services. All of these services are provided with the goal to lead survivors to optimism and independence. Dahlia’s Hope is seeking inspired, talented people who want to work to support our mission.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Director of Development and Marketing to join our team and lead our development and marketing efforts. The Director of Development and Marketing will oversee the development and marketing operations for Dahlia’s Hope. This position is responsible for leading the development team in fundraising and securing donors that allow us to meet the financial goals of Dahlia’s Hope. The development work will also include forecasting future financial needs, securing grants, and building strong relationships with donors. In addition to development, this position will oversee the Dahlia’s Hope marketing strategy and marketing operations. The Director of Development and Marketing will report to the COO and the Board of Directors.

Director of Development and Marketing Responsibilities
Manager of Development Team:
Provide cutting edge leadership
Plan, strategize, and execute fundraising and development operations
Ensure that fundraising allows for Dahlia’s Hope organizational needs to be met
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
Create and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of monthly and annual donors
Lead and direct Dahlia’s Hope fundraising events
Use creativity and innovation with fundraising efforts
Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
Develop and understand finance and budgets to include research and development appropriations, expenditures, and profit-loss projections
Lead marketing planning, strategy, communication, and execution for the organization
Work with the Board of Directors and COO to accomplish an effective marketing strategy to bring in more donors as well as market our program to survivors/community partners
Ethically market the Dahlia’s Program without exploitation of survivors
Devise and manage marketing initiatives, including traditional and digital media
Create and manage marketing campaigns and ads
Build brand awareness
Oversee the social media accounts for Dahlia’s Hope
Perform and apply marketing research
Develop innovative ways to reach target demographics to include the use of technological advances, outreach, and advertising
Coordination with Dahlia’s Hope Programs, Departments, Executive Team and Board of Directors:
Work as part of the Dahlia’s Hope team and maintain cooperative relationships with the organization, staff, survivors, and donors
Help comply with Dahlia’s Hope standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations
Help develop policies and procedures for the development and marketing departments
Perform coordination and tasks as assigned or required by the Board of Directors
Coordinate and collaborate with the COO
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Management or leadership experience
5+ years of fundraising and marketing experience
Experience with coordinating marketing/fundraising projects from beginning to end
Knowledge of non-profit sales and marketing strategies that are effective
Experience with grants
Event planning capabilities
Past work with digital marketing, content marketing and social media marketing
Familiarity with the creative side of design and marketing
Characteristics of the Director of Development and Marketing
Professional work ethic
Social awareness and excellent communication skills
Ability to “read the room” when working with donors
Able to manage time effectively, and work accurately and efficiently with a high attention to detail
Quick learner who is open to being challenged in their career
Dependable, well organized, and able to use excellent time management in administrative duties
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-Point
Excellent critical thinking skills
Creative, innovative and professional in providing input for the organization
Ability to create positive relationships
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation package will consist of a competitive base salary that will be determined, in part, by the successful candidate’s level of professional experience.
Locations: Utah County/Remote Work
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (May be subject to on-call weekends and evenings)
Start date: Immediate
Status: Full Time
Reports to: COO and Board of Directors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
