JOB DESCRIPTION
Newrest is looking for an experienced Dishwash Manager. This individual will be responsible for overseeing directly and indirectly 30-50 employees on two different shifts. This individual will be working alongside the Unit Manager, Deputy Dishwash Manager, and dishwash workers and help to maintain the process flow, quality, and other operational and personnel processes of the dishwash department. This is a management-level position with significant influence and autonomy for the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervisory and Management

Oversee the Dishwash department
Manage and supervise the work of all employees within the department
Bring up to management’s attention any concerns and recommendations to such concerns
Foresee needs or problems that may arise and have action plans in place to avoid production disruptions
Provide vision and clear expectations to all team members
Conduct Safety/Production meetings for subordinates
Conduct workstation inspections to verify compliance (USDA, HACCP, OSHA, etc.)
Comply with the Dishwash standards, efficiency, waste, overweight, etc
Promote and maintain teamwork among employees.
Empower team members to identify and resolve operational issues
Ensure that all staffing needs and caliber of people are met in coordination with HR
Develop Deputy Managers to the next level of leadership
Hold team members accountable for all expectations
Handle any coaching and/or corrective actions with the assistance of HR
Approve and handle all questions regarding timecards and pay
Perform other duties as assigned

Operations

Take ownership of the operations by taking full responsibility of anything within the department
Maintain clean, sanitary work area, safe storage of dish carts and related supplies
Ensure the proper procedures are met for proper loading, running of dishes/cutlery through wash cycle and unloading and stacking of dishes/cutlery in appropriate storage area
Ensure timely and proper distribution of clean dishes, utensils, and other required items to proper areas for other departments
Maintain clean, sanitary work area, safe storage of dish carts and related supplies
Follow established guidelines, food safety, health & safety policies and procedures
Keep accurate records of cleaning performed
General dish area maintenance including sweeping, mopping, organization and garbage
Follow all food safety, health and safety, company rules and standards.
Communicate with the warehouse department of any stock item needs
Clearly and confidently communicate with client representatives as needed
Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field
3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing or food industry managing 50+ non-exempt level employees
Previous experience in supply chain strongly preferred
Ability to life items/packages (up to 35 lbs./15kg)
Ability to work during weekend and holidays, when required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong leadership experience with experience in start-up or turnaround environments
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with non-exempt to upper management levels
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes
Good knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards
Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through
Detail-oriented and ability to see high picture
