Job Description : Your field of responsibility
Your responsibilities include:
Pre matching equity, fixed income and money market transactions in the markets managed from India
Fails Management – including chasing fails with c/party, narrating s/pad & fail coding.
Timely settlement of security and cash transactions on settlement date
Reconciliation of security and cash accounts
Providing operational support to trading desks and Front Office and to internal and external clients
Understanding and applying market rules, deadlines and characteristics
Working in a controlled environment
Identifying cost saving opportunities in operations processes and process -mprovement opportunities in daily processes
Working with management team to comply to all market regulations and provide support for regulatory requests when required

Americas Securities Settlements are responsible for the timely settlement and reconciliation of securities trades and related monies for CS entities based in the Americas and EMEA.
A typical day will entail supporting equities, fixed income and treasury trading desks and the core responsibilities would include pre-matching trades, resolving trade exceptions as well as trade settlements in a timely manner. This requires a person to work in tight deadlines as per local market requirements along with strict adherence to internal controls. The other activities will include reconciliation of accounts, handling internal and external client queries that includes banks, brokers, clients, Front office & middle office desk support teams, and other operations team across the Bank. Any error / late processing would result in potential interest claims, queries from the desk / counterparty and will have a direct impact to the Banks reputation, and / or potential regulatory implications. Individuals would be working in a highly controlled environment which requires strict adherence to checklists and other internal procedures and guidelines laid down. All issues/process failures are required to be logged and remediated. The individual is required to be sufficiently trained on the process and become an SME to cater to exigencies.

Your skills and experience
The right candidate will possess:
Good numerical and analytical skills and a positive can do attitude, combined with strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
Experience in a back office/operations environment preferred
Strong understanding of financial markets and mechanics of equity and fixed income instruments; experience handling on exchange transactions would be beneficial
Ability to plan, organize and set priorities to enable the effective management and delivery of tasks within set timeframes
Attention to detail and logical and pragmatic approach to problem resolution
Strong understanding of operational risk and control and ability to both implement and manage a control framework
Firm understanding of basic accounting principles
To support, manage and deliver on a timely basis change initiatives, control enhancements and new business development
