Job Description : We are a small company in Newberg Oregon, that specializes in laser technology.We’re looking for someone with a solid electronics background who would be interested in getting trained to work on a variety of laser platforms. If you have familiarity with lasers and optics, it would be a plus for sure … it is not necessary though. The person we’re looking for must also have diverse mechanical skills and a willingness to help out in other parts of our business, including some shipping/receiving, incoming inspection, and more.Our company was established in 1985 but we have maintained a small footprint of only 14 employees. We sell laser components and accessories in many markets, including electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, industrial fabrication, quasi-medical applications, and so on. Our customer base is split about 50/50 between domestic and international sales. We’re looking for a long-term employee that wants to stay with us for a long time. One gentleman just retired after 30 years with us and we have a few others who have been with us for 10+ years.When I refer to an electronics background, I am referring to someone who knows electronics to the point where they can troubleshoot complex electronic circuits to the component level. Someone with a degree from an electronics-based school would be an ideal candidate. Familiarity with the use of oscilloscopes and digital voltmeters is required for troubleshooting analog and digital electronics circuits to the component level, such as transistors, resistors, capacitors, ICs, etc. You must be able to read schematics and troubleshoot based on them. If your electronics skills do not meet these requirements, then please don’t apply for the job.This work will involve many different facets, including laser electronics, RF circuits, thermoelectric circuits & chillers, high power DC Power supplies, sophisticated controllers, rebuilding of laser heads, and much more.We might be willing to discuss the top salary for this job, based on your experience.
