The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy provides education and research that promotes innovative solutions to the most critical issues facing society. Founded in 1929, USC Price consistently ranks among the top-rated public policy schools in the nation. We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and computer savvy Events Coordinator to join our team in the Office of External Affairs. This is a full-time position.
Reporting to the Events Manager, the Events Coordinator supports event management, communications, and office support.
In this position, the Events Coordinator will assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of special events for the school including meetings, academic events, speaking engagements, social events, conferences, and school-wide gatherings for the Dean and Office of External Relations. Specifically, the role entails coordinating vendor and venue services, streamlining event marketing campaigns, creating collateral, and supporting special projects as needed.
Primary areas of focus include:
Event Coordination
Support events for the office of External Relations and the Dean’s Office, including meetings, academic events, speaking engagements, social events, school-wide gatherings, conferences, and major institutional events like Trojan Family Weekend, dean’s receptions, and commencement
Manage event logistics including venue and vendor booking, décor selections, creation of event collateral, management of RSVPS, creation and distribution of event briefings and production timelines, reconciliation of budgets, and post-event follow up
Spearhead staff and faculty events, both in-person and online, to facilitate community building and internal engagement
Develop content and design invitations for email and print distribution
Support ongoing research for timely event topics and speakers
Work collaboratively with academic affairs, faculty, and research center staff to ensure all events are posted to the external and internal events calendars and social media
Office Support and Communications
Support the maintenance of database projects, list-serves, and mailing lists
Assist in the distributions of announcements, newsletters, and event invitations
Maintain event tracking sheets including attendance, key performance indicators, and post-event feedback survey responses
Track and reconcile the Price External Relations Event budget including processing expenses and coordinating internal requisitions and purchase orders
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by the Events Manager
Hours
Hybrid in-person and remote work
Subject to change based on event needs, which include early mornings and evenings, and the occasional weekend.

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Experience
3+ years of experience in events/hospitality
Expertise and Skills
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledgeable with CANVA, Photoshop, Constant Contact, and other event management tools.

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience with special events planning, fundraising management, or alumni and volunteer relations management. Experience with contracts and other legal documentation. Ability to support event planning (e.g., developing concepts, creating and estimating budgets, producing promotional materials). Experience with audio/visual equipment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain multiple schedules. Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communications skills.
