Job Description : 1. SUMMARY JOB1.1. The Radiology Technician, under direct supervision, takes images of various portions of the body by operating stationary and portable x-ray equipment according to developmental factors and age specifics. Conducts Ultrasound procedures. Processes and critiques radiographic films, prepares room, equipment, supplies and medications.1.2. Follow established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.2. CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES2.1. Prepare patients for radiologic / Ultrasound procedures.2.2. Provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed / Ultrasound. Scan Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during scan.2.3. Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.2.4. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.2.5. Participate in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures. To report any defects or problems either directly to the Radiology Manager or Clinical Specialist in the area where working.2.6. Aware of own limitations in terms of expertise and experience, to ask for assistance or advice from more senior staff.2.7. To follow directions of Senior Radiology Technician, more experienced staff and departmental protocols where applicable.2.8. To keep up to date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required.2.9. To actively participate in Continued Professional Development training.2.10. Develop and process radiologic film.2.11. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.2.12. Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Practice Manager or supervisor.2.13. Retrieve radiologic orders from and input related data into the electronic medical record.2.14.
