Ancestry seeks a Genealogist Researcher to join our U.S. Coast to Coast research team in our Salt Lake City office. The Coast to Coast team works with many clients to help them discover more about their ancestors in the United States and their immigration. The team also supports the AncestryProGenealogists Travel and marketing Departments and Ancestry’s Public Relations team. You will report to the Research Team Manager.

As a Genealogist Researcher on the Coast to Coast research team, you will…

Conduct efficient, and exhaustive genealogical research using websites, libraries, and archive (online and onsite) to solve client’s research challenges
Analyze client-provided materials, create a comprehensive research plan, keep a professional-grade journal, and write clear and concise reports for our clients
Provide monthly updates for our clients
Manage your time and resources to meet the session deadlines
Work together with your Research Manager and other members of your team to provide a positive and engaging experience for our clients

Who You Are:

5+ years of experience as a professional genealogist (for paying clients).
Bachelors/4-year degree in Family History, History, or another research-based field
Advanced expertise with broad U.S. coast to coast research methods and approaches
Proficient in U.S. research with an understanding of U.S. records in particular before the year 1850 and afterward
You are accredited or working towards accreditation or certification
Can type 55 wpm
