PURPOSES
The purpose of this position is to “help others come unto Christ by serving members, leaders, and employees globally in a simple and efficient way.”
An Operator in the Voice Communications Center assists global church leadership, employees, members and non-members by screening and forwarding telephone calls throughout Church Headquarters and around the world.
This is a 32 hour per week position, requiring Swing shifts, Grave shifts, and rotating Weekend shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the initial point of contact for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner within standard guidelines.
Assist global church leadership, General Authorities, employees, missionaries, members and non-members.
Use judgment and problem-solving skills to accurately transfer phone calls as needed. Handle sensitive and confidential information
Complete projects as assigned.
Set and meet department and individual goals.
Adapt pace to meet urgency.
Other tasks assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED required. Post high school education preferred.
1-2 years’ work experience (preferably in a call center environment).
Demonstrated telephone, communication and computer skills.
Must be able to communicate in English for general communication both verbally and in writing. Must be able to listen, understand and ask clarifying questions as needed, and respond clearly.
Must be able to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without supervision in an independent environment.
Must be able to wear a headset or use a handset for duration of shift.
Demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with a broad range of customers.
Must have ability to adapt to change, including policies and procedures.
Must be flexible within a 365-day, 24/7 operating work schedule environment, including holidays, weekends, and grave shift work.
Proven ability to follow directions.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

Fluency in Spanish
Post high school education or Degree
Knowledge of computer hardware and software, and basic ability to troubleshoot

WORTHINESS QUALIFICATION
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
