Job Description : Job Description

The Utah Department of Health is seeking (2) Health Educators to support the Healthcare Associated Infection/Antibiotic Resistance (HAI/AR) Program by providing workforce development, coordination of education and professional training opportunities for program staff at the state and local health departments. You will also conduct outreach to local stakeholders to bring awareness of the HAI/AR program to external partners. Remote work available. Must reside in Utah or be moving to Utah within 30 days of start date. Principal Duties

Develop training targeted to HAI/AR staff and local health departments.
Conduct educational outreach to stakeholders and external partners regarding antimicrobial stewardship, multidrug-resistant organisms and National Healthcare Safety Network & Project Firstline information.
Conduct evaluations of all trainings in an after-action report.
Support HAI/AR program in the development of guidance documents, reports and letters.
Learn about and comply with the administrative requirements and processes of a state government position (e.g., data stewardship, participate in writing and monitoring of contracts and grants, & submitting protocols to the institutional review board).

The Ideal Candidate

Must have experience providing training or coordinating educational outreach.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have proficient skills with Google Office, Microsoft Office Suite, Acrobat/Adobe

Preference
May be given to applicants with:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Health, Health Education and Promotion, or other related field.
Experience with health education.
Knowledge of infectious disease transmission, process and control.
Experience with federal grants.

Working Conditions:

The typical office setting for this job is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. However, you may encounter some risks that are associated with any office setting, for example, the safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Standard Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Remote work available.

Physical Requirements:

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
