Working on the Early/Head Start Network (EHSN) team, you will provide support to community-based agencies to enable them to implement high quality, Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
The Health Coordinator will monitor, train, and provide technical assistance to support Delegate, Partner and Directly Operated Programs in meeting Early/Head Start health and nutrition requirements.
Reporting to the Health and Nutrition Services Manager, the Health Coordinator will:

Monitor agencies on a continuous basis to ensure compliance.
Develop collaborations, partnerships, and training opportunities in the fields of health and nutrition.
Provide training and technical assistance at programs.
Work with colleagues to develop systems and best practices for implementation.
Remain up-to-date on current health changes and issues that could affect requirements.
Develop, monitor and evaluate systems to ensure that all children meet federal, state and DCFS mandated timelines for submitting physical and dental forms and that required screenings are completed.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
3 to 5 years of related work experience.
Public Health training. Knowledgeable of health related services to the community.
Prior experience and knowledge of the Department of Health regulations and licensing requirements.
Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and materials.
Communicate effectively and function well with parents, staff and various professional community groups.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of local and state licensing requirements.
Ability to work as a collaborative, encouraging team member.
Ability to handle duties in a self-directed manner.
Ability to guide staff in acquiring medical results.
Ability and willingness to work in a program located in a high-risk, low income community.
Ability to communicate and work with diverse staff, families and professionals.
Basic knowledge of computer applications.
Must have a good command of the English language and grammar.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Deep commitment in advancing diversity, racial equity, and inclusion into organizational routines and practice.
Effectively establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
Comfort and experiences in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.

SALARY: $60,000 – $65,000
