Description/Qualifications:
Your Role With Us:
The Health Education Assistant provides class and program facilitation, customer service, reception and clerical support for the Community Health Education Center and staff.
Core Functions:
Performs secretarial/clerical duties for department timely and accurately.
Acts as the receptionist for the Community Health Education Center. Provides desk and phone coverage, assisting customers with requests and providing accurate information and appropriate referrals. Responds promptly and courteously to requests regarding health education and directs to appropriate staff or resources.
Processes participant and patient registration and payment as well as printing class rosters and surveys. Provides information about classes on request, including information for class schedule, printed flyers/advertisements and website
Maintains and updates list of health education materials and resources. Assists in the production of educational materials. Copies and assembles educational materials on request.
Performs Community Health Education Center room scheduling and AV equipment reservation duties using scheduling software.
Facilitation of health education classes or programs, with appropriate training or certification.
Availability for education assistance at outreach events, functions and screenings.
Background/Expertise:
Graduate of high school or GED equivalency required. Bachelor’s degree or certification in Health Education Curriculum desired.
Current CPR certification.
One-year previous experience in a responsible education position. Preferably in a healthcare setting.
