Being A Great Home Inspector
Many people think about becoming a home inspector, but few realize the hard work, dedication, and training that is involved. If you are the right person, are very customer service oriented, have a teachable mindset, and fit well into our company culture, we can teach you the skills and knowledge to make you a great home inspector.
We are looking for a detail-oriented person who is a great communicator, connects with people, and has the ability to learn the technical aspects of home inspections. While already being InterNACHI Inspector Certified and having industry experience is beneficial, it does not at all limit the scope of hiring for this position. We are willing to teach the right person how to be a great home inspector.
This position will require someone comfortable with climbing ladders, walking roofs, and entering/crawling dirt crawl spaces on occasion. This position also requires someone who is comfortable with growth and change and is willing to learn and adapt to an ever-changing industry that continually requires higher levels of competencies. Attention to detail is critical, as is the ability to communicate very well both in writing and verbally. Punctuality is also of the upmost importance.
We are looking for a self-driven, results-driven, teachable team player who is not afraid of change or a challenge, is able to lead by example, and does not mind working in the trenches when the need arises. This person will also handle the occasional, delicate matter with finesse, professionalism, and expertise. This person holds a high degree of self-accountability. The candidate should have a willingness to teach others and brings a positive approach to challenges faced in the field.
Qualifications

Minimum education required is a high school diploma or equivalent.
Great people and communication skills are essential.
Must be able to verbally deliver information in a calm and non-alarming style.
Must be proficient in typing and writing skills.
Must have a great attention to detail.
Must be proficient with iPhones, Android devices, and basic computer skills.
Must be physically able to climb ladders and fit in tight spaces (crawlspaces, attics, etc.).
Monday – Friday work schedule, with occasional Saturdays.
Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle to drive to job sites (preferably something with all-wheel drive for snowy days).

Regular Work Activities

Perform residential home inspections (included climbing ladders, walking roofs, entering crawlspaces, etc.).
Perform ancillary services/inspections: mold, meth, radon tests, and more.
Perform brief, walk-through consultations with customers after the inspections.
Complete continuing education training: online, in-house, and in the field.
Driving your personal vehicle to job sites (all around Northern Utah).
