Erie West Town Administrative Offices – 1701 W. Superior St. – Chicago, IL
The Human Resources Assistant (HRA) reports directly to the Manager, HR Partnerships. The HRA will work primarily with the Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) team and provide general HR support as needed to the HR Department. The HRA assists with day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department, provides general assistance to employees, handles special projects and internal audits, answers HR related questions and refers employees to business matter experts or the employees HR Business Partner as needed. The successful candidate is an organized, solution-oriented multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and will engender trust and confidence among staff and colleagues.
Responsibilities
Assist employees and supervisors with providing policies, forms, and procedures related to performance management and redirects to subject matter experts or HRBPs when necessary
Assists with new hire orientation as well as internal application inquiries for existing employees and redirects to appropriate HRBP when necessary.
Coordinates and assists with compensation related projects and projects which may include annual benefits statements, open enrollments, and audits.
Performs data entry for internal training system throughout the employment cycle.
Maintains records of employee participation in internal and external HR related training programs.
Facilitates in confirming that reimbursements are approved by HR for employment certifications and training, while redirecting to Payroll when necessary.
Prepares periodic reports to HR peers in a timely manner, as necessary or requested.
Responsible for ID badge management for all employees and associates.
Maintains all required documentation in personnel files, including current professional licenses, medical documentation, and I-9 reporting
Communicates with all internal and external customers in an inclusive manner ensuring an equitable, diverse, open, and inclusive work environment.
Maintain DEI training data and support DEI initiatives as directed.
Associates degree or some college courses in human resources, business, or health administration or equivalent combination of HR or related work experience and education required
Intermediate knowledge of web-based, self-service human resource applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and database applications required.
Experience in human resources, health care, non-profit or related administrative work preferred
Light lifting, ~20 pounds, and ability to operate general office equipment
Strong Internet connection, minimum MBPS 75 when working from home
Must adhere to hybrid work schedule as required by department and may be required to come on site at any time
