Insurance Verifier
Insurance Verifier
Assists Patients, physicians, advanced practitioners, and other medical staff by coordinating with insurance payors to determine the benefits available for weight loss surgery. The insurance verifier will help transition the patient from initial contact with the clinic to the Insurance Authorization and Surgery Scheduling teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with patients, who show interest by completing the Personal Information Form (PIF), by calling their health insurance providers to determine the criteria required to obtain approval or authorization for weight loss surgery. The verifier will also assist patients who do not have health insurance or weight loss surgery benefits to help design a plan for cash pay and or Care Credit financing. When the patient has met all criteria, the verifier will coordinate with the Insurance Authorization and Surgery scheduling teams to help advance the patient toward surgery. The Verifier will help document each patient’s criteria progress so an accurate record of all essential steps is up to date.
Role
Facilitate the patient experience from initial contact with the clinic through post-operative recovery. This is done with in person interaction, answering phones and resolving patient concerns, tracking patient progress and encouraging the next steps. Document each and every patient encounter and criteria step completion within the patient tracking system.
Essential responsibilities

Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding

medical records; keeping patient information confidential.

Comply with legal regulations.
Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient calls.
Interview Skills to obtain a Patient’s medical history and criteria compliance.
Familiarity with health insurance,
Basic medical knowledge
Experience in medical administration,
Kind and compassionate with patients
Responsible,
Dependable,
Adaptive and organized multi-tasker who can quickly learn and retain new information.
good critical thinker.
Possess and utilize good deductive and intuitive reasoning skills.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Experience
2 to 3 years of Previous reception or call center experience
4 to 5 years of Customer Service Experience
Phone skills.
Database Tracking
Minimum qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
4 to 5 years of Customer Service Experience
Enthusiastic
Good with people
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $22.00 per hour

Client Services & Customer Support: 3 years (Preferred)
Medical Industry: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

High School Diploma (Preferred)
