A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Junior Software Tester
As a Junior Software Tester, you play a key role in ensuring quality for the commissions team which calculates and validates compensation for our sales base. Working side by side with our developers, you write test cases to be run during continuous integration (CI) and perform manual tests. You understand the importance of keeping project stakeholders and management in the loop, and so you communicate test progress, results, and other relevant information regularly. You enjoy collaborating with many people throughout your day by sharing application improvement recommendations with programmers and developers as well as disseminating knowledge of best practices.
Putting your incredible analytical skills to work, you determine the intended functionality of new applications by analyzing their documentation and technical specifications. Additionally, you analyze formal test results and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, or interoperability flaws that you find. You perform thorough software testing to ensure the integration into our company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
As a valuable part of your team, you assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines. You also work with your team to perform regression, load, script, and user acceptance testing as well as actively participate in code reviews, design discussions, and planning. You get a sense of satisfaction out of using your software testing and development skills to contribute to our success.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A Junior Software Tester

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related, or equivalent employment experience.
Experience in testing windows applications, web applications and mobile applications.
Good understanding of Quality Assurance concepts, practices, and tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to get test cases identified as early as possible.
Ability to create detailed test plans from requirements,
Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects. Familiar with bug/defect logging.
Comfortable querying data using SQL and working in a technical environment
Possess strong written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of team members.
Supporting the software team in root cause analysis and in the reproduction of error messages
Assist with automated testing to complement manual testing efforts
Monitor the results of the automated tests, reporting errors found
Experience in automation testing using Selenium or Cypress & JavaScript is a plus
Experience working in scrum or agile development environment supporting a software product
Knowledge of Azure DevOps and .NET environment using Microsoft tools Cypress would be appreciated
Finally, passion for learning new skills, and applying them into the work, good problem-solving skills.

WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time IT and software testing position typically works during standard business hours, Monday – Friday. We also offer the option of working an altered schedule that allows for every other Friday off.
