Job Description : The Role
Main duties – Red palm weevil production and colony maintenance: – Ensure the adult crosses necessary to obtain the required number weevil eggs and adults per week – Adult food preparation – Larvae food preparation: synthetic diet cooking and sugarcane processing – Egg and 1st instar larvae collection – Individual larvae transfer to fresh food until pupation – Pupa collection and processing for adults – Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory – Collect and log rearing data
Requirements
High school graduate at least Expected Skills/Rank/Experience – Communicate fluently in English – Hard working – Excellent hands on skills – Handling of workshop equipment and manipulation of all stages of the red palm weevil – Attention to detail – Flexibility to work in accordance with the needs of the project.
