Job Description : Job Summary: Sus Clinicals Inc. is seeking independent, talented laboratory technicians to lead the performance of tissue culture, molecular biology, and sample processing required as part of ongoing porcine-based preclinical cancer projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Conduct experiments related to an innovative transgenic porcine cancer model being used for preclinical diagnostic and therapeutic testing and internal R&D studies
· Perform tissue culture experiments, including cell isolation, purification, and propagation of porcine cancer cell lines, viral vector production, CRISPR and viral vector-based gene editing experiments, and in vitro cellular phenotyping
· Perform molecular biology experiments, including DNA/RNA/protein extractions, PCR/qPCR, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, design of CRISPR guides, plasmid cloning, and sample preparation for histology/sequencing
· Perform tumor development studies in mice, including preparation and injection of cell lines, monitoring of tumor development, and sample collection and processing
· Assist with porcine animal procedures, including preparation of viral vectors and cancer cell lines for in vivo tumor development, processing of biopsy, blood, and necropsy samples, inventory collected samples in a preclinical biospecimen inventory, and other tasks as needed
· Replicate, refine, and add new research approaches based on project needs; test, customize, and implement new methods, procedures, and techniques
Education, Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree (required) or graduate degree (preferred) in biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, genetics, or related life sciences field
· Minimum of 2 years’ research experience (specifically mammalian cancer cell culturing)
· Fundamental knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, design, and methods
· Proficient understanding of cancer biology and genetics
· Organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a team environment
· Good oral and written communication skills
· Strong interest in preclinical animal models, particularly porcine cancer models
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
