The manufacturing Learning and Development Team is leading the development of an innovative learning strategy to meet the demands of our manufacturing employees to work within our production system using advanced technologies. We are seeking a Learning and Development Workforce Development Lead who will collaborate with a variety of external organizations develop, deploy and implement a workforce development strategy for current and future manufacturing employees.

What you’ll be able to do:
Our specialized team will concentrate on all facets of workforce development preparing employees for new processes and technology in manufacturing operations. This learning and development leader must have a passion for lean manufacturing, people development and have a continuous learning and development mentality. They must have a proficiency in building and sustaining relationships, applying innovation through daily work, strong knowledge of a spectrum of learning theories, organizational skills, and a keen eye for details. This leader must have a passion for people, diversity, a focus on the learner and understand elementary, adolescent, and adult learning (K-12 through adult).
Focus on “Employer of Choice” initiatives, branding, communication
Partner and collaborate with economic and workforce development agencies to promote development of a skilled workforce
Employ a desire to educate the community and our future workforce on our brand and company
Cultivate and mature relationships with external organizations who are advocating for our future workforce.
Leadership in recruiting outreach to engage future workforce (K-12, Technical Institutes, Community Workforce Development Organizations, under-serviced population outreach)
Collaborate with internal and external partners to deploy and implement learning programs for future and current manufacturing employees
Leverage key partnerships across enterprise (within HR COEs, MFG. and Operation Skill Teams) to ensure stakeholder alignment and to minimize duplication of efforts
Collaborate with internal and external partners to include communicating effective manufacturing points of view with others internal and external as required
Support workforce development through culture related research and best practices to help build expectations, practices, and process into the foundation of the design of workforce development activities. (leadership and organizational structure, team/decision making collaborative engagement, facility design for equitable engagement and employee experience, partnership leadership with JVs)
Lead multiple projects/vendors where applicable to support the overall project.
Support creation of a business focused, and employee centered, onboarding process to engage workforce early and minimize attrition risk
Facilitate employee and leader empathy/journey maps to:
Facilitate human centered design solutions
Provide a learner centric perspective to manufacturing operations
Develop timing, communicate resource requirements and workstream deliverables for team milestones to deliver a qualified workforce as required by cycle plan
Use understanding of workforce barriers to employment and partner in interventions to facilitate removing those barriers (including infrastructure, legislation, brand imaging etc.)
Collect feedback and provide analysis/evaluation of workforce development activities from onboarding through prototype to final solutions as required.
Mitigate risk / emotion to project timing by leading resources effectively
Travel up to 10-20%, as needed, to define and support work deliverables withing North American
Work remotely with ability to travel to the office for meetings as needed

The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s degree
4 or more years of experience in at least one of the following areas – Learning and Development, Organizational Design, Community Relations and Communications

Our Preferred Requirements:
Experience in breaking down complex work steps into logical optimized steps
Assess organization’s programs for technology and processes to ensure human centric deliveries.
Must have knowledge of learning and development theory – human centric approaches – evaluation methods
Knowledge of design human experience data collection tools
Familiarity with a variety of assessment/evaluations models
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and within team environment
Self-motivated with validated multi-tasking skills
Experience with Visual design/graphic skills (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and SharePoint 2016
