Position : Loader Operator: $20-22hr with OT opportunities
Job Description : Passionate about the automotive industry and our environment? Envision a world without waste? Crazy about cars and all things mechanics? You have come to the right place! Tear A Part is a self-service auto recycling facility, where tinkerers, mechanics and the public can shop for used auto parts. We are currently seeking a motivated Loader Operator! As a Loader Operator, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Loader – operating heavy machinery to move vehicles throughout the yard; strategically place, crush, and flatten vehicles; and place cars to process for customers and retail sales.
Job Duties:
· Maintain loader, and crusher (daily fluid checks, greasing, fueling, and cleaning)
· Load trucks with product(s) that need to be shipped
· Notify management of any issues in the yard
· Report to management any damage to property/cars in the yard as well as equipment
· Maintain organization and safety while operating heavy machinery/equipment
· Maintain daily checklists and inspections of the equipment
· Sweep the crushing pad with a power brush sweeper at the end of the day.
· Power wash both the loader and crusher every two weeks
· Other assignments as needed
Physical Requirements:
Sitting for long periods of time in a machine
Bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling repeatedly
Handling heavy machinery
Occasionally assist in the yard and work in extreme weather conditions (Heat or Cold)
Experience:
· High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
· Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery
· Certification preferred but not required
· 1 year experience in automotive recycling industry or related field preferred
· Experience with power tools and general shop equipment is a must
Pace and Scheduling:
Time sensitive
Fast-paced, manual labor-intensive environment
Must be able to work some weekends/holidays
Occasional overtime required
Work Attire:
Company Provided Uniform (Coveralls, Hard Hat, Safety Vest, other PPE)
Must wear steel toed boots
Any hats worn must be company provided with company logo
No torn or worn-out pants/jeans
No gauges or face piercings
