Job Description : This role is eligible for our five day flex office work model.
Why is this job a big deal:
This individual will serve as an integral member of a team responsible for Priceline’s general ledger accounting to ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and take ownership of his/her work. A successful candidate will possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams within Priceline and across Booking Holdings. The candidate will have experience supervising and providing feedback to a direct report. In this role, the individual will safeguard existing internal controls and will suggest improvements.
In this role you will get to:
Record or review monthly journal entries for, but not limited to, prepaids, fixed assets, deferred merchant bookings, and Priceline Technology India (PTI) activities.
Oversee all aspects of the accounting for prepaids and fixed assets for the consolidated Priceline entity, including providing monthly rollforward support to Booking Holdings.
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly; resolve any reconciling items on a timely basis.
Supervise direct reports.
Review direct reports’ monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
Prepare and/or review statutory journal entries.
Maintain a separate ledger for statutory reporting.
Prepare statutory financial statements.
Coordinate the statutory audit by liaising with statutory auditors and the PTI accounting team.
Proven ability to work with multiple currencies.
Prepare monthly variance explanations for income statement and balance sheet accounts including providing financial details to PTI leaders to facilitate business decisions.
Assist PTI’s senior manager with standardizing the current processes.
Ensure internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks.
Respond to requests from risk and controls, internal audit, external audit, and Booking Holdings, Inc.
Provide support for the interim and year-end audits.
Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables.
Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise (e.g. automation, ERP implementation, etc.).
Who you are:
Chartered Accountant
7+ years of related professional experience preferably with a GL team of an US MNC.
Excel proficiency required
Detail-oriented
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated history of living the values important to priceline.com: Customer, Innovation, Team,
Accountability and Trust. Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
Experience with Oracle, BlackLine, SAP 4/HANA, OneStream
