Brief JD of role:
Deep knowledge of direct tax laws, practice etc. across compliance, litigation & advisory
Adequate understanding of business to corrleate tax laws with business needs
-Ability to manage one-off situations such as tax on M&A etc.- Partnering with various functions on need basis to provide tax inputs

Interacting with tax authorities and getting across company’s point of view
Strategizing defence in litigations and
Interacting with ext. advisors & counsel to develop tax solutions in complex situations and in complex litigations
Involvement and support in various audits from a tax perspective
– Tax planning – ideation to implementation to defence

– Group Reporting – CT & DT comp., ETR calculation, planning, timing of claims etc
Involvement in Contract reviews
– In-house advisor to other functions on tax topics – develop feasible solutions & implementation support
– Participating in cross functional meetings for tackling novel situations / needs- In case of external queries, say by any auditor or so, carrying out tech. research, developing response, drafting positions etc.

Keep internal stakeholders informed of key queries & responses across the board USL + Subsidiaries
Tax and TDS compliance (tax payment, returns etc.)
Book keeping hygiene (GL reviews, any reconciliations etc.)
As team player, from time to time, providing inputs to team on “hard” tax topics and on various “soft” aspects
Support key decisions by bringing in macro tax lenses across laws
Keeping abreast of developments in the tax world
Educational Qualification – Chartered Accountant with post qualification experience of 3-5 years
