Laborie Medical Technologies is currently searching for a Manufacturing Leader to join our engineering team in the Salt Lake City facility.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Leader works under the direction of the Production Manager to provide supervision and coaching to a team of manufacturing associates. The Manufacturing Leader wears many hats, allowing multiple opportunities to learn and grow in several areas as well as keeping life interesting! This Manufacturing Leader is an exempt position with typical on-site working hours of Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm.
How you contribute:

Production Associate Supervision and Development:
Supervise daily production operations
Create weekly schedules and execute production attainment goals
Update ERP systems from the production side as needed
Work with associates to resolve employee relation issues/concerns
Work with quality team to ensure manufactured products meet quality requirements
Ensure consistent application of company and departmental policies such as vacation, sick, attendance and FMLA and manage communication of changes to manufacturing associates
Drive team to meet production goals and manage metrics
Coach manufacturing associates on development to progress their skills
Develop and motivate employees with consistent feedback and recognition.
Staffing Support:
Create staffing plans and complete hiring, promotions and terminations as necessary
Work with Manufacturing Training Coordinator to ensure associates are trained to perform their job
Safety:
Lead team to comply with current safety requirements and seek to improve safety
Coordinate with Safety Team and Manufacturing Training Coordinator to ensure training needs are met
Provide daily emphasis on safety and its importance
Escalate safety concerns
Conduct safety walk through and investigations
Production Planning:
Work directly with Supply Chain and Manufacturing Planning team to ensure stocking levels of manufactured goods are maintained
Coordinate with engineering team and supply chain team to schedule equipment downtime and/or testing
Continuous Improvement:
Implement and maintain production metrics to drive process improvements
Implement and maintain 5S in production
Work with manufacturing engineering to implement process improvements
Complete document updates as necessary

Qualifications:

Familiarity with basic manufacturing principles including quality
2 years’ experience in medical device production or related area preferred
2 or 4-year degree in a technical field preferred
Demonstrate proficiency with computers in areas such as SAP and MS office suite
