The RoleKasa is seeking a Materials Planner to assist in planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of in-unit furnishings and operating supplies throughout the production cycle. The Materials Planner will develop specifications for new orders and is responsible for procurement data input and integrity. This role will contribute to the success of the organization by assisting with all aspects of signage programming, interior design development, material sourcing, and preparing technical diagrams. Additionally, the materials planner will be responsible for maintaining order matrices, organizing design folders, and preparing budgets, as well as coordinating signage opportunities between various stakeholders.The Materials Planner will work closely with the entire Supply Chain team, assisting with all-things procurement and interior design, and they will report to the Sr. FF&E Procurement Specialist.
About the TeamThis role resides within our newly-founded Supply Chain team, comprised of creative experts in interior design, procurement, logistics, and operations within Kasa. All members work remotely across the U.S.The Supply Chain team was founded by a few select members of the Launch Operation department who were intent on increasing efficiency and scalability. We launched some of the earliest Kasa properties, relying on grit, Costco, and local contractors. Since then, we have enlisted 3PL partners and reputable vendor relationships, and optimized consistent, repeatable processes. We are looking for someone who welcomes change with open arms, and is excited to add to our strong team culture; adding empathy, teamwork, and drive along our 100-year Kasa journey.
Day in the life of a Kasa Materials Planner
Like any role at a fast-paced start-up, there is no ‘typical day’, but your primary responsibility will be to assist the Supply Chain Team and Sr. FF&E Procurement Specialist with specifying the materials required for each property launch, as well as creating supporting technical documents. To achieve your goals, you’ll be expected to do the following:

Perform site visits. By visiting the property prior to launch, you’ll be able assess existing inventory at acquisition properties, as well as plan signage opportunities.
Plan signage opportunities. While you won’t be designing the graphic content for each sign, you will use your knowledge of human behavior and accessibility guidelines to make recommendations on signage placement, size, and materials. Over time, you will work with the Brand and Launch Operations teams to develop a signage specification system that can be replicated across multiple properties.
Populate order matrices. You’ll use pre-determined design packages and par levels to populate order forms and warehouse pick lists based on the property’s unit configurations.
Create staging diagrams. You are able to create crystal-clear technical drawings for our on-site teams. In addition to creating diagrams for signage recommendations, you will assist the Sr. FF&E Procurement Specialist with annotating furniture layouts and attic stock planograms for each project.
Monitor the in-unit inventory and refresh schedule. For quality purposes, in-unit furnishings and operating supplies must be proactively replaced on a regular cadence. You will work with our on-site operations teams to coordinate property refresh efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments In this role, you’ll get to work alongside several key stakeholders to improve design operations and make new launches as seamless as possible.

Experience

You have at least 1 year of experience planning materials for hospitality or similar in-person activations.
You are comfortable working cross-functionally and relying on cooperation and teamwork with operations specialists who get the job done.
Travel is in your DNA – Ability and willingness to travel as needed up to 30% of the time.
