Member Services Representative (full-time / exempt)
Salary Range: $63,000 to $70,000 (with an additional monthly stipend to defray costs from healthcare and technology needs), dependent on experience and qualifications.
About the OrganizationThe Licensed Adult Residential Facilities Association (LARCA) is a new membership association established to advocate and deliver services for all licensed operators of Adult Residential Facilities (ARFs) and Residential Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) located within Los Angeles County, with emphasis on serving facilities providing housing and services to residents living with mental illness and residents reliant on public assistance and benefits for survival. LARCA has been formed under the fiscal sponsorship and stewardship of the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Greater Los Angeles County (NAMI GLAC), who has been awarded a two-year funded contract from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LAC DMH) to establish the organization.
The OpportunityNAMI GLAC seeks a genuinely stakeholder-focused individual who is committed to delivering quality and excellence to the LARCA membership to serve as the organization’s first Member Services Representative. The ideal incumbent for this role will have documented capability in delivering program service functions for a civic organization and/or nonprofit association, and possess well-developed behavioral competencies in delivering efficiency, effectiveness, and quality across all services for the diverse membership of LARCA. Working closely with NAMI GLAC and the LARCA Executive Director, the Member Services Representative will be a key player in developing LARCA into a functional and successful membership organization that will serve as the leading voice in Los Angeles County for member facilities and their residents for years to come.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Coordinate online and in-person events to ensure the quality service delivery of LARCA member onboarding, engagement, research, training, and other programs
Serve the LARCA membership as a primary point of contact, documenting member needs and concerns, ensuring prompt follow-up or escalation of issues
Develop engaging, accurate, and consistent member communications and publications for LARCA across print, email, web, social media, and other medium
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support all LARCA advocacy, member training, and quality improvement service activities
Represent LARCA and its membership to external stakeholders with consistency, ensuring accurate messaging across all advocacy and engagement activities
Collect data and prepare reporting for LARCA programs, ensuring accuracy and quality in reporting outputs and the safe preservation of all data sources
Deliver administrative tasks as directed, to ensure the effective delivery of all core member service functions
Reporting and SupervisionThe Member Services Representative will report directly to the Executive Director of LARCA, and will be employed with NAMI GLAC upon initial hire, as fiscal sponsor and incubator of LARCA under contract from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LAC DMH). When LARCA becomes an independent entity after an anticipated period of two years, the Member Services Representative will be employed directly by LARCA.
Desired QualificationsEducation: College or university degree in a field or discipline related to the areas of nonprofit or public administration, communications, humanities, and/or social workExperience: 3+ years of experience in the fulfilment of program delivery, support, and/or member services functions for a nonprofit, member association, union, or similar organizationSubject Matter Expertise: Nonprofit program service delivery, member marketing, communications, graphic arts, and stakeholder management (Preference given for proven expertise related to the production of member publications, websites, and and/or delivery of social media functions)Behavioral Competencies: Quality-focused, efficient, ethical, congenial, and passionate about providing services contributing to the sustainability of licensed residential facilities, housing, and access to mental and physical health services for all members of our diverse communities
Working ConditionsAs LARCA is being constituted with a remote workforce model, many of the duties of this role will be resourced to be conducted virtually from the incumbent’s primary place of residence. However, it is expected that a successful incumbent in the role will need to reside within (or adjacent to) Los Angeles County. Maintaining a safe and compliant personal work environment in the place of residence is the sole responsibility of the incumbent.
As this is a full-time, exempt role, the incumbent will be expected to travel to events, meet with members and stakeholders, and deliver service activities across a range of locations and hours which will require the incumbent to maintain access to reliable transportation, insurance, and possession of a valid, Class C California Driver’s License.
As LARCA is a membership association representing residential facility operators who deliver continuous service, the incumbent will need to anticipate conduct of member meetings and other stakeholder engagement outside of customary business hours.
Due to the sensitive nature of this role and the facilities it serves, candidates may be subject to background investigation, if selected to advance in the recruitment process for this role.
