Must have skills:
Should have minimum 6 years of experience with 4+ years supporting a large enterprise environment required (multi-building campus, MAN/WAN, >5000 users)
Proficient in Nexus technologies like ACI, VDC, VPC, FEX, Fabric Path, and OTV
Proficient knowledge and understanding of Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA, Cisco wireless
Proficient in Switching and Routing protocols
Possess strong investigative and analytical qualities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Should have experience in designing enterprise network.
Good to have :
Candidates with VMware SDN – NSX skills are preferred.
experience on Wireless technologies, WAN optimizer and, load balancers
Responsibilities
The engineer will be based out of India and will be responsible for supporting the network environment including all the network, wireless and security products. He will be responsible for the uptime of the environment, all day to day activities and guide the L2 team for operational work. He will work with the lead and the service delivery managers to participate in reporting and delivery meetings.
Translate business requirements into Network infrastructure solutions
Analyse complex cross functional and cross platform issues.
Develop and document procedures and best practices for network operations infrastructure
Day to day operational support of the network, including responding to user and system-initiated tickets and resolving network incidents
Act as the first point of escalation for challenging issues not resolved by junior network operations engineers.
Establish and execute the life cycle process for network equipment, including OS patching and upgrades
Maintain network management systems and tools (Solarwinds, OPsmanager, etc.)
Define best practices for network management systems, including recommendations for key performance indicators and alert thresholds.
Review and respond to monitoring alerts, logs, and alarms
Analyse and maintain performance data, make recommendations and changes to ensure optimal network utilization
Design, Installation, and configuration of enterprise network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points
Work directly with customers to resolve incidents
Participate in team after hours and on-call rotation as required
Perform other duties as assigned.
