Job Description : Overview:

The successful individual for this position will become a member of the USU Eastern, Blanding Campus Professional, Career and Technical Education Department (PCTE). This individual will generally perform a range of basic office support activities, including answering phones and directing calls, greeting and directing visitors/students, answering questions and performing routine clerical, data entry, spreadsheets, and/or word processing. They will be required to complete paperwork and filing, both electronically and by hand with minimum errors. They should be comfortable communicating by phone and email and have both strong verbal and written skills. This individual should have experience with Microsoft suite such as Data Base, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook (or related programs). At times this individual will need to assist with campus activities or meetings outside of the office.
Responsibilities:

Answers telephones, takes messages, and provides general information; greets and directs visitors; and answers routine inquiries.
Performs a variety of routine typing assignments including drafting basic correspondence and data entry.
Sorts and routes incoming mail; distributes to department staff.
Copies, scans, and or duplicates materials as requested.
Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or updates files, records, and/or other documents.
May order, stock, and distribute office supplies or pertinent program items.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Dependable work habits
Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments
Strong communication skills
Current driver’s license in order to perform essential job functions

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in record keeping
Experience planning, promoting, organizing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to prepare and print routine correspondence and other basic written material.
Word processing and data entry skills.
Skilled in the operation of basic office equipment.
Typing skills.

Advertised Salary: $12.00 – $14.00 per hour ADA:

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
