Job Description : Job Purpose

1 out of 3 patients with MS are affected by Secondary Progressive MS (SMPS), a disease characterized by limiting mobility, cognitive decline, and fatigue. We are looking for highly energized, passionate people to join the Novartis Neuroscience team to support patients living with MS.

There are multiple positions available that cover national geographies. The Eastern position will cover EST and CST time zones. The Western positions will cover PST and CST time zones. Flexibility will be required.

The Patient Services Coordinator role is the single point of contact to provide case management support to Neuroscience (NS) patients. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering resources and information to support the patient and their experience with Novartis Patient Services, thereby helping to limit barriers that may hinder appropriate patient outcomes.

This position does not involve the practice of nursing.

The role will be home based and the Patient Services Coordinator will service patients virtually. Occasional local internal planning face-to-face meetings will take place as well as reactive engagement with MS offices to educate on our services.

Your key responsibilities:
The role is to be the primary face of the patient services program with the patients and responsible for overall customer satisfaction.

Interacts with patients via multiple channels (e.g., phone, email, text) to educate, motivate, and empower them.
Provide information and education to the patient after they are prescribed a Novartis NS product(s) and enrolled in the program, offer virtual injection demonstration and provide adherence support to the patient until graduation at approximately 24 months of support or as needed by the patient providing additional information to patient on access and reimbursement journey.
Handles inbound and outbound calls to/from existing patients, new patients and vendors or case managers.
Delivers patient program information and conducts only virtual (telephonic) visits with patients.
Report all adverse events and product complaints in accordance with established policies and procedures.
There will be little to no travel required of this role with the exceptions of local meetings. All patient facing activities (and internal collaboration) will be telephonic.
The Patient Services Coordinator must act in accordance with all Company policies and guidelines. All
Patient Services Coordinator activities will be performed in a manner that is consistent with and compliant with all company policies.

Maintains patient documentation and performs records audits and generates insights from patients as strategic input into program evolution

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree; Nursing Degree (RN, NP, PA) with licensure in state in which he/she resides
2+ years Patient Services Coordinator or liaison experience or 2+ years of pharmaceutical experience
Complex Specialty products experience highly preferred such as Psoriasis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, MS, Orphan Diseases, Biologics, Medical Devices, Oncology, Transplant, Infusion
Understanding of product and payer reimbursement landscape and prior authorization guidelines and processes
Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy providers highly preferred
Empathy, drive, positive competitive spirit, and commitment to great service
Skilled in building strong relationships, collaborate and identify trends for all stakeholders
Must pass all required company certifications and/or oral board exams as needed
Understanding of patient privacy laws including HIPAA and similar state laws.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to communicate fluently in both Spanish and English
