Requirements:
General Description:

The Permitting Specialist will handle a wide range of administrative and support for the Legal Affairs and Development Teams. Demonstrating professionalism, solid judgment, discretion, and effective written and verbal communications, this person must be proactive in anticipating and prioritizing the business needs.

Focus:

Responsibilities

Providing administrative and support. In particular:

New shop business license and permit set-up – coordinate and manage relationships with third party vendors and regulators to ensure all initial shop business license/permits are being addressed and completed as requested/required paperwork and information per shop.
Existing shop permit renewals – coordinate and manage relationship with third party vendors and regulators to ensure all existing shop business license/permits are being addressed and completed as requested/required paperwork and information per shop.
Utility set-up – confirm utility responsibility with the landlord per shop; set up gas, electric and water (if applicable) for each new shop.
Respond timely to and resolve permit-related issues arising in shops.
Monitor progress of municipal applications and fulfill jurisdictional requests for additional information.
Such other tasks as required.

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products- Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

Experience, Education, and Behaviors:

Must represent The Potbelly Advantage and Our Values.
Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Communication skills. Must have extremely strong written communication skills and as strong oral communication skills.
Presentation and attitude. Must be professional, presentable, positive, and nice.
Sense of urgency. Must be able to work within deadlines and execute in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to manage multiple, high-profile projects at the same time and be flexible to work extended hours.

Essential Physical Functions:

Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 45 to 55 hours a week.
Will frequently key in data.
Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the field.
Must be able to communicate heavily through telephone, e-mail, video conference, Microsoft Teams, text/SMS, and in-person communications.
