Position : Quaker – Lead Packaging Operator
Job Description : Quaker Oats, part of PepsiCo, is looking for a Lead Packaging Operator to work in our fast-paced 24-hour operating manufacturing environment.

Lead Packaging Operator
A Packaging Operator operates and troubleshoots product line machinery/equipment and computers, performs manual labor on production lines, and maintains operations at optimum quality and quantity levels which minimizes manufacturing expense and performs repairs as necessary.
As a full-time team member, you would work 40 hours per week and overtime may be required to meet business needs.
Below is a list of responsibilities that would include but, are not limited to:
Operate multiple packaging machines at one time in accordance with established procedures and guidance
Must ensure that each box is properly coded, dated, and sealed with minimum amount of waste product and supplies
Performing sanitation duties on machinery to ensure safety and health compliance; keeps assigned machines and area clean and safe
Follows proper start up and shut down procedures of equipment
Performs complete product changeovers and adjust line for size changeovers
Performs quality control checks and supports safe objectives on quality audits
May perform other related duties as necessary to meet the ongoing business needs of the organization
Lead Operator responsibilities would be in addition to daily accountability for running production lines in Cups
Conduct shift overlap meetings (Review production schedule, changeovers, prior day crew/ shift performance)
End of shift quality paperwork review (HACCP, Run sheets, Centerlines)
Coordinate repairs with Maintenance as needed
Coordinate with other departments on manpower issues, product delivery; or as needed
Update production schedule
Act as shift contact for PSIs, notifying the appropriate people to resolve and fill out the appropriate documentation
Coordinate training of new employees
Prepare staffing schedule with OT and make the schedule to meet production needs
Coordinate Hold Incident Investigations and follow-up with appropriate people
Conduct and complete quality, inventory, production tests, scans, records, and reports timely and accurately
Ability to lead and facilitate a team
Conduct shift reconciliations for case counts and follow up with any issues
May perform other related duties as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
High School Diploma or G. E.D Equivalent, is preferred
Intermediate Computer skills (Excel, Outlook (email), Word, Power Point, Internet, WMS, MARS, etc.)
Ability to assume responsibility, work independently, meet critical deadlines
Demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload
Experience in team-oriented culture
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (verbal and written) is essential
Understands/ utilizes plant/ department key performance indicators (KPIs)
Has solid understanding of proper procedures for all line operations (including start-up, changeovers, sanitation, preventive maintenance, quality, safety, etc.)
Able to quickly resolve problems and make decisions based on knowledge/ experience
Working Environment:
Working conditions are normal for manufacturing environment with varying temperatures. Work may involve frequent lifting of material and product up to 50 pounds
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but, not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes/boots, and safety gloves
Work will involve excessive climbing of stairs/ladders, bending, pushing/pulling, crawling on hands and knees, working in tight/confined spaces, and heights that could exceed 100 feet
