We are looking for a self-starting, Research and Development Specialist who will report to the Director of Research and Development in our Orem, Utah office.

Responsibility:
Works with product development team (R&D leadership, Scientific Affairs, Product and Project Managers) to develop dietary supplement products that are novel, contain key differentiating factors, meet target costs, and are validated by internal and/or clinical studies. This role is responsible for screening ingredients, identifying and/or evaluating alternates for existing and new formulations, formulating prototypes, and all other R&D-related supporting tasks for assigned projects such as managing product documentation and supporting artwork (label) development and approvals. A second major responsibility is the maintenance and formula updates of existing products in our portfolio. This position is a highly collaborative one, and requires working closely with regulatory, operations, quality, marketing, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure proper formulation, production, and registration of Unicity’s nutritional products. This position is guided by R&D leadership, but expected to work independently and effectively on assigned projects.
Requirement:
Bachelor’s or Masters of Science (M.S.) degree in a technical field (nutrition, biochemistry, chemistry, exercise and sports science, food science, biology, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years or Master’s with 1+ year of formulation and product development
Experience working with different delivery forms (powders, tablets, capsules, soft gels, etc.), with a strong preference for experience in formulating and manufacturing tablets and capsules
Experience in the manufacturing of nutraceutical products
Knowledge of human health and current trends in the nutraceutical industry
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
