The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is seeking a motivated individual with an eye for detail to fill its
Utilities and Railroad Coordinator position in Region One located in Ogden, Utah.

In this position, you are responsible for the assembly, accuracy, completeness, processing, distribution and filing of contracts and agreements for highway construction projects for the purpose of advertising and distribution according to established procedures.

Principal Duties

Providing contract administration expertise.
Writing and executing agreements.
Reviewing construction proposals/contracts and plans to determine project requirements.
Preparing various reports.
Updating tracking spreadsheets.
Assisting the Region Utility Leader with various assigned tasks.
Working with the Region Utility Leader to notify affected utility and railroad companies of impacts to their facilities or rights-of-way by construction projects.
Coordinating utilities for projects.
Completing other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who:

Has experience writing, working or administering contracts or agreements.
Has experience dealing with construction and utility conflicts.
Has experience with highway construction projects.
Is highly organized and can handle multiple tasks.
Has highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Understands blue stake codes.
Has an understanding of Administrative Rule R930-7 – Utility Accommodations and R930-8 – Utility Relocations Required by Highway Projects.

Preference may be given to those who have more related working experience in the criteria listed above.

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc.
Employee may be reassigned to a different location as deemed necessary by the Region Director/Group Leader.
