Job Description : POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Regional Director, Arizona and Utah Markets
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations
DIRECT REPORTS: District Managers
LOCATION: Based in Utah
FLSA: Exempt
PURPOSE
As the Regional Director, you will bring our purpose to life through building a high performing team that delivers an exceptional team member and member experience. This role will focus on developing a growth strategy that aligns with VASA’s initiatives and partners with support functions essential to operational execution and market expansion. This involves ensuring that we understand the market; developing a growth strategy; building and developing a high performing team; collaborating with operational leadership and corporate functions to create strategies, which promote the brand effectively; delivering a world-class member experience; and driving performance that results in financial targets and KPI’s being achieved or exceeded.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Leadership & Management Duties
People driven leader, providing coaching and feedback, demonstrates a servant leadership style that is approachable, accessible and builds trust with individuals and teams.
Actively supporting District Managers and team with planning aimed towards growth goals and solutions.
Apply effective change management principles that align with the VASA approach.
Properly delegate, monitor and evaluate specifically assigned responsibilities of the fitness team.
Manages, monitors, evaluates the financial and execution performance of the region.
Supports the talent acquisition of leadership positions including district managers and club leadership roles.
Assess employees’ skills, performance and potential and provide planning to close competency gaps.
Communicate with employees through daily connections, weekly meetings, and memoranda.
Actively collaborate with others who contribute to opportunity development.
Provides clear direction and candid feedback to district managers and their broader regional leadership team.
Leads regular talent reviews and succession planning to support team member development, promotional opportunities, and identifies external talent so support company growth.
Sales Duties: Interpret reports to track and analyze sales progress, landscape progress, and enhance processes.
Identify/implement innovative ways to motivate and inspire focus on company growth and targets.
Support district managers with analysis and meeting preparation for business reviews.
Establish training programs to drive action and remediate existing gaps.
Drive annual planning with leadership and internal stakeholders to develop and manage strategy and tactics.
Operational Duties: Regularly visit clubs to connect with team members, assess operational processes, procedures and club cleanliness.
Partner with facilities team to ensure equipment cleanliness, functionality, and safety is effective throughout the region.
Model effective decision-making regarding member and team member issues
Plan and promote strategic ad hoc solutions for operational dynamics that arise.
Lead by example, inspire and influence team members during club visits by listening, coaching and providing feedback.
Showcases passion for improving processes and systems to make club operations effective.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Previous experience managing multiple markets.
Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
3-5 years’ experience in a similar industry with similar sales cycles.
Robust business acumen and track record of success leading teams.
Possess a thorough understanding of gym facility operations as defined by company standards.
Comprehensive knowledge of all facility operations, sales, and management systems
Proficient in the use of all software programs utilized by the facility
Previous experience managing Profit and Loss Statements and management of facilities cost using P&L data.
Ability to motivate and mentor staff. Proven track record of uplifting those around them.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Exercise Science, business or related field
Bi-lingual in Spanish

ATTENDANCE AND TRAVEL: Physical attendance is an essential duty of the job. Travel will be required in state and out of state (approximately 50%)
