Job Description : The Role
Job Description Standard Duties of Job • Be involved with the day-to-day running of the qualitative research, training of graduate and undergraduate students. • Be instrumental in research projects, data collection, data management, grant management and the preparation of initial manuscripts, grants and other outputs. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Contribute significantly to the research projects within the Institute of Public Health. • Conduct and execute various research projects with special focus on using qualitative research methods and analysis of collected data. • Carry out administrative and management work associated with research grants and publications. • Assist in the training of graduate and undergraduate students on specific research techniques relevant to their projects. • Be involved in teaching and computer based learning sessions • Experience managing public health research grants • Preparing and editing publications • Training undergraduate and graduate students on research projects and statistical analysis • Ability to read, comprehend and discuss research data and articles • Knowledge of computer and word processing/database/spreadsheet software. • Ability to perform statistical analysis • Excellent organization and time management skills • Excellent oral and written communication and training skills • Ability to work independently and take initiative • Demonstrated awareness of cultural, privacy and confidentiality issues. • Good interpersonal and team working skills and flexibility with working hours. • Proficiency in English. • A working knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil and/or Malayalam will be an advantage.

Requirements
Minimum Qualification • Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a closely related Basic/Health Science subject along with relevant experience in research and teaching support. PhD in Public Health will be an advantage Expected Skills/Rank/Experience • Familiarity with qualitative research methods, including data collection, data entry and analysis. • Experience in using qualitative research software (Nvivo). • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Abilities to conduct interviews, experience in transcribing records and provide a thematic analysis. • Excellent computing skills and familiarity with the use and application of statistical packages, databases, spreadsheets & graphics. • Minimum 3-4 years in academic, health or research institution setting. • Preferably 5+ year experience in relevant scientific field
