Job DescriptionThe Security Officer is responsible for the safety of individuals and property and enforcement of company policy.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

Ensures the safety of employees and guests and enforces company policies at assigned events, posts, and routes.
Investigates guest and employee complaints.
Acts in a professional and non-confrontational manner including when interacting with combative or intoxicated individuals.
Prepares a written report of the night’s activities for management including times, dates, names and/or descriptions of people involved in incidents.
Understands fire notification and evacuation plan, use of fire extinguishing equipment, and emergency medical notification procedures.
Monitors the property and surrounding areas to detect security and safety hazards and provide a presence to deter vandalism and theft.
Maintains proper communication and keeps employee and guest information confidential.
Performs customer service tasks as needed; Accompanies late arriving guests to their room assignment, delivers linens and rollaway beds; performs pest control duties, etc.
Drives guests and employees to on-property destinations using company vehicle.
Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs.
Works extra shifts and hours as required.
Assists in other departments as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A valid Driver’s License is Required.
Read, write, speak and understand English effectively.
Excellent employee and guest and employee relations skills; Ability to recognize, diffuse, and resolve disputes and similar situations.
Ability to learn radio language and operational skills.
Knowledge of assigned lodging facility/event and area.
Knowledge of facility, grounds, and event security best practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

Must be able to understand normal conversation and accurately communicate information.
Ability to stand and walk on paved, unpaved, uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces for extended periods of time.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
Ability to remain balanced; Stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, push, pull, finger, grasp, and reach down, forward and overhead occasionally.
Manual dexterity to grasp and handle paper, phones, radio, etc.
Ability to control/escort agitated, intoxicated, or otherwise disorderly individuals; lift and carry up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions: Adverse conditions may include extreme heat and/or cold, wind, humidity and sometimes inclement weather.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, or previous security, law enforcement, or related work experience preferred.
Knowledge of facility, grounds, and event security best practices preferred.
