Position : Supply Assistant Manager

Job Description : Newrest is looking for an Assistant Supply Manager for its Salt Lake City location. In conjunction with the Supply Manager, the Assistant Supply Manager is responsible for managing the inventory, ordering and receiving of all food, beverage and equipment products. This individual is also responsible for setting up new vendors, maintaining vendor relationships, and assessing vendor performance and relationships. Although this person does not have any direct reports, this individual will assist in overseeing a team of people, including the warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory and Management

Manage and supervise the work of all employees within the department under the direction of the Supply Manager
Provide vision and clear expectations to all team members
Develop Leads and Operators to the next level of leadership
Hold team members accountable for all expectations

Operations

Take ownership of the operations by taking full responsibility of anything within the department that the Supply Manager requests
Ensure that all carts are filled accurately in a timely manner and with high quality according to the datasheets and clients’ requirements
Ensure that processes are as efficient as possible
Empower team members to identify and resolve operational issues
Bring up to management’s attention any concerns and recommendations to such concerns
Foresee needs or problems that may arise and have action plans in place to avoid production disruptions
Clearly and confidently communicate with client representatives as needed
Monitor incoming and outgoing goods and deadlines for food consumption.
Conduct stock inventory counts frequently.
Place supply orders as needed.
Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field preferred
2-3 years experience in manufacturing or food industry managing employees
Previous experience in supply chain strongly preferred
Ability to lift items / packages (up to 35 lbs. / 15 kg)
Ability to work during weekends and holidays, when required

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong leadership experience with experience in start-up or turnaround environments
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with non-exempt to upper management levels
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes
Good knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards
Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through
Detail-oriented and ability to see high picture

SALARY

$55,000 per year
