Introduction:

To work and resolve technical problems in Linux/AIXs and work on service Operations tasks(Incident, Change, Problem, Patching) in 24X7 rotation
Liaise with other support teams to address the internal support team’s issues as well as share and adopt best practices being followed.

What will you be doing?
Act as technical first point of contact internally and externally for break fix, incident, event, change and problem management.
Promote the use of Technical Standards, Procedures and Best Practice and maximize the use of toolsets and automation.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Manage stakeholder expectation in MIM and BAU conversation
Provide regular update on critical issues

Decision-making and Problem Solving
Prompt problem solving ability
Quick decision making ability to tackle operational issues
Provide permanent resolution to problem tickets
Adopt, develop and promote automation
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor degree in technology with working experience in Unix
Must be RedHat Certified.
Working experience over 6 years in a fast paced UNIX environment.
Excellent communication and articulation skill
Ability to lead shift operation and drive interaction with senior stakeholders
Comfortable to work in 24/7 rotational shift
Unix Administration skills, clear concepts of LVM, User Management & Operating system.
Troubleshooting on filesystem & user access related issues.
Troubleshooting on various UNX OS & hardware related issues like high CPU, memory utilization, disk, power supply & memory failures.
Knowledge of automation, Chef, Powerbroker technologies
AWS / cloud knowledge would be added advantage
Experience in Remote troubleshooting and diagnosis of UNIX issues.
Work with vendors like HP & Oracle in coordinating hardware replacement changes.
Deep understanding of UNIX OS & troubleshoot
Deep understanding and troubleshooting experience of Veritas volume manger and Veritas cluster
Basic Tivoli Storage Manager Client administration & able to trouble shoot backup failures & remediate the same.
Good understanding of Network Connectivity and protocols with respect to the UNIX platform
Exposure on ticketing tools like Service Now, BMC Remedy, HPSC Open View, IBM Tivoli
Understanding & experience working on DNS, FTP & NFS.

Skills that will help you in the role:
Engineering graduate with 6-8 years of experience in supporting enterprise Unix environment
RedHat Linux certified
Knowledge of AIX/Solaris
Excellent knowledge of Veritas volume manager, Veritas cluster and VVR

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication and articulation skill
Ability to lead shift operation and drive interaction with senior stakeholders
Knowledge of automation, Chef, Powerbroker technologies
Knowledge of AWS/Cloud technology
