Summary of Role
The role will work as part of the global Software Quality Assurance team and will build, design, and test the technology application portfolio. This role serves as an integral member of a global Agile Software Engineering team to design, build, test and deliver products to our external or internal clients.
The role will be part of a forward-thinking and technology focused Quality Assurance team that seeks to leverage and develop the latest and greatest in the field of testing practices to deliver our products to the marketplace.
The Role
Collaborates with users to understand requirements and translate into test plans, ensuring product quality in own and other’s work and using extensive testing engineering skills.
Identifies the test scope and co-ordinates the test environment set-up, contributing to complex aspects of a project.
Ensures all test issues are documented and analysed and provides feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
Develops internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
Keeps abreast of the latest technologies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.
Helps check the work of team members, ensuring that deadlines are met and outputs are of a high quality.
Provides support, guidance and mentoring other Manual testers.
Helps identify areas where process and service improvements can be made and develops recommendations.
Helps conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions on business processes.
Draws on internal and external practices to establish best testing practices within the team and ensures that it is shared and understood.
Works closely with Development, Product/Business Analysts, and other Software Engineering functions to ensure high quality on-time delivery
Works with the team in assessing opportunities to strengthen definition of done and get us closer to delivering working software at the end of every sprint.
Help drive effective Agile Scrum practices to meet/exceed software engineering goals. Embrace and contribute to the team’s Agile philosophy
Drive to learn modern testing or agile methodology-based testing practices
Creates high quality acceptance tests from acceptance criteria and quality standards that help the scrum team understand the value of the user story from the user’s perspective.
Supports team members, both locally and globally.
Builds the team’s technical expertise/capabilities/skills through the delivery of regular feedback, knowledge sharing, and coaching.
Contributes to resource management activities and programmes to be able to attract, identify and keep best-in-class talent.
High learning adaptability, demonstrating understanding of the implications of technical issues on business requirements and / or operations.
The Requirements
A Bachelor’s/College Degree would be beneficial and extensive experience in a technology related discipline, such as IT or Engineering is required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office
Knowledge in Automation Testing
Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Quality Centre test tools
Demonstrate a strong understanding of SDLC process. Experience in Agile/Scrum framework is required.
Creates test scenarios from functional requirements and/or User Stories using the Gherkin format
Contribute to testing strategy for product that lead to high quality releases
Intermediate skills in writing T-SQL
Intermediate knowledge of using SQL Management Studio
Manages time effectively by placing the right focus on value added operations
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of tools and techniques used in manual testing
Working knowledge of the following technologies and how it impacts testing: JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery, CSS, XML, Angular, load balancing, single/multi tenancy, and rational database design concepts
Deeply understands practices of agile software development
Create and drive Regression testing strategy for product
