The Role

We are looking for a TikTok Strategist with extensive experience in building an established following with a unique, satirical voice that can live across multiple social media platforms as a recognizable entity. Candidate must have a proven history of building a large following on a social media platform, producing original content that has virally grown. Candidate must also have demonstrated their ability to maintain the attention of a viral audience with followup content. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a small team of writers dedicated to innovative, humorous extensions of a character as they would appear and interact on mainly TikTok and occasionally Twitter, Twitch, Instagram, and Facebook. The challenge is to create consistent, engaging, witty, and on-brand posts and comments that draw notice and create a must-follow voice. Must be someone in tune with social media trends and how to subvert them for humorous ends.

A Day in the Life of a TikTok Strategist:

Continuously strategize, plan, and thoroughly carry out plans to establish following base within goals set Brainstorm with small writing team, providing feedback on their work and incorporating their notes into your own writing Maintain a posting schedule that creates the sense that this satirical character is Extremely Online Do daily research on social media trends and topics of discussion in the pop culture space, strategize how to engage and frequently take over these trends to amplify the character’s voice Strategize and flesh out the type of humor the character exhibits, develop internal rules of engagement for the character

Qualifications of a Comedic Character Writer

Proven track record of rapidly building a social media presence with creative, funny, and timely content Has a deep understanding of TikTok algorithm and how best to exercise posting and content practices History of working collaboratively with other writers while maintaining a healthy and positive work environment Comfort with all major social media platforms, with advanced expertise on TikTok Flexibility of writing voice that can be adapted to different characters as needed Awareness of how to provoke with satire without spiraling into toxic online behavior
