Position : Traveling Matl Handlng Clerk
Job Description : A Motor Truck Operator job consists of receiving and storing materials, tools, and equipment.
Accountabilities
Deliver material to all Commuter Operation locations within a 100 mile radius
Receive and store materials, tools, and equipment
Fill material orders and store material
Complete source documents
Perform necessary preventative maintenance checks on vehicles
Load and unload trucks and cars using a hand or 6000 pound capacity lift truck
This position requires lifting, packaging, fork-lift operation, and various other duties as assigned
This position requires the ability to perform heavy physical labor on a continuous basis
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers and effectively handle conflict situations
Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
Qualifications
Required
Basic computer skills
Computer-literate and have basic keyboarding skills
Good verbal communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Ability to read and understand all instructions including operating and safety rules, bulletins, special instructions, and federal regulatory documents
Commercial Drivers License (CDL) specifically CDL-A
Ability to speak English in a clear, concise manner to communicate with coworker(s) and supervisor(s)
Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions
Knowledge of material processing procedures
Able to perform heavy physical labor
Able to work in warehouse environment to load and unload materials
Work Conditions
Willingness to practice safe work habits
Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Able to provide your own transportation
18 years of age or older
Willingness to work outside regardless of weather conditions
Agree to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety boots, hard hats, and hearing protection where the company requires

Must be willing and able to work around large equipment such as railcars, locomotives and cranes
To the extent required by federal law and/or collective bargaining agreement, membership to the respective labor union is required. The union agreement dictates the pay rate and cannot be individually negotiated. Monthly dues are the responsibility of the employee.
