Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY
Inspectors will not hold any control or exert direct influence over the work being performed by Other Contractors nor will he/she perform the role of manager or foreman on behalf of the Company or Other Contractors. An Inspector?s primary responsibility shall be to visually inspect the assigned work being performed by Other Contractors and report back to the Company. If the work performed by Other Contractors does not follow the specifications set by the Company, then the Inspector will inform both the Company and the Other Contractor(s) that the work is not meeting the applicable specification. It will be up to the Other Contractors to make the appropriate changes to correct the work so that the work meets the specifications established and set forth by the Company. Should Other Contractors performing the work fail to correct any deficiencies identified by the Inspector, the Inspector shall report the non-compliance to the appropriate Company representative.
POSITION FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESONSIBLITIES

Reviews drawings, construction plans, permit requirements, Company?s contracts with Other Contractors and specifications to verify complete familiarity with each Inspector?s functional responsibility and the totality of the work being performed by Other Contractors for the Project. Construction drawings and Company?s contracts with Other Contractors, manuals, permits, construction specifications and appendices will be made available to Inspector via a SharePoint site and hard copies will be provided by Company upon arrival of Inspector at project site.
Performs visual inspections of all Project construction activities on a daily basis to verify conformance to the drawings and specifications for each Inspector?s functional area.
Keeps a log of all quality deficiencies and construction deviations that documents the deficiency, the corrective action or repair to be taken by Other Contractor(s), and shall follow up to verify corrective action was completed. This log will become part of the records provided to the Company by each Inspector.
Produces a daily report of the work performed by Other Contractors, inspection Services completed, and deficiencies or deviations noted on a Company provided Daily Progress Report template, or Company approved alternative.
Witnesses Other Contractors? pre-commission tests and/or equipment calibration prior to installation.
Verifies that all inspection records/quality documents and relevant Project documents produced by Contractor and/or Other Contractors are maintained and archived according to the Nicor Gas Storage and Transmission As-Built Documentation Requirements to be provided to the Inspectors by Company during training and Contractor will be responsible for submitting overall Final As-Built documentation to the satisfaction of the Company within ten (10) calendar days of the Project being placed into service.
Inspectors shall be accessible and promptly respond to Company personnel by email and cell phone, as needed
Inspectors shall be present for handling of all major equipment by Other Contractors, including loading and unloading, and shall inspect equipment prior to any lift
