The Accountant / Financial Analyst is accountable and responsible for providing timely and accurate accounting and financial support- including data collection and preparing reports for analysis. Primary responsibilities include controls of the Accounts Payable- process labor work orders and labor hours’ reconciliation for the week/month- assist on the costings of existing and new bill of materials- prepare and report weekly checkbook- assist with the month end close- quarterly and annual forecast and provide other support as needed.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Accounts Payable
Control of invoices- purchase orders- & receiving documents to ensure timely vendor payments Reviews vendor activity for proper account balance- activity and status and communicates with suppliers/vendors. Serves as liaison between plant and Corporate Accounts Payable regarding vendor issues and outstanding invoices. Conducts research as necessary.
Accounting / Finance
Compiles and records production data such documents as work orders- product specifications- and individual worker production sheets. Research materials and labor issues in SAP related to work orders. Compiles and inputs month-end Journal entries for assigned areas in preparation for month-end closing (e.g. Accruals). Prepare- analyze and report the weekly checkbook to the management Monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation Backs up the Accounting Manager Prepare reports daily / weekly / monthly/ Quarterly/Annual and as requested to support analysis of Materials- labor and overheads variances for weekly checkbook and monthly reporting; monitor- control and report any variances and the root cause.
Budget and Cost Control
Recommends measures to improve accounting practices and systems resulting in better efficiency and cost savings. Assist with the preparation and analysis of the monthly & Annual Forecasting (Annual Operating Plan- AOP and Latest Estimation (LE) Adheres to established safety guidelines- policies- and procedures while promoting a safe work environment. Interprets and takes ownership of GMPs and Safety company standards. Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions. Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list in order to achieve targeted RCR. Ensures department adheres to established safety guidelines- policies- and procedures.
Quality
Interprets and takes ownership of GMPs and food safety company standards. Must be able to provide recall information for raw material usage as well as disposals. Coordinate with Quality Assurance on any product placed or released from hold status- raw materials as well as finished product. Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions. Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list in order to achieve targeted RCR.

The vision requirements include close vision- distance vision- peripheral vision- depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Accounting/ Financial Analyst works primarily in an office setting and may- on occasion- visit a large- open food production area where there is exposure to dust- gas- or fumes and food odor. Hearing protection is required throughout the production and packing areas. Lighting is fluorescent. Floors in the production- packing areas- and warehouse are concrete and sanitized. They may be wet. All employees wear protective gear. Temperatures vary throughout the plant and can be very hot if working near ovens.

Education and Experience:
BS degree and three or more years accounting related experience.

Work Attributes or Skills:

Which vendors and suppliers work with KHC and the nature of their agreements- contracts- with the plant.
Process for researching vendor issues and outstanding invoices.
Policies and procedures for balancing / reconciling accounts.
Process to prepare the estimated / actual results daily- analysis of the variances and able to explain them.
Process for prepare and analyze the appropriate accrual for the month
Process to prepare the daily reporting of variances- and volume-
Process to prepare and analyze the monthly and annual forecast.
Understanding the costing of the products- bill of materials changes.
Knowledge of the process orders- labor reconciliation and upload.
Procedures related to optimizing accounting practices including efficiency and cost savings.
Language Skills: Comfortable conversing in intermediate English and/or Spanish (bi-lingual preferred).
